Haomin (Harmin) Qi (Chee)

I am currently a research intern at Microsoft DKI Group. I am also a master's student at UC San Diego, advised by Prof. Jingbo Shang. I also collaborate with Prof. Robin Ding at UCLA and Prof. Chengpeng Wang at NUS. Previously, I received my Bachelor's degree from CUHK, where I was advised by Prof. Soung Chang Liew and Prof. Rosanna Yuen-Yan Chan. Earlier, I began my research journey with Prof. Min-Te (Peter) Sun at NCU and Prof. Jun Wei Hsieh at NYCU, Taiwan.

My research interests lie at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering. I focus on advancing more intelligent coding agents for software engineering tasks, and on addressing the challenges that agentic AI poses to program synthesis, repair, and cybersecurity. More specifically, my research spans three directions: [Environmental Engineering for Coding Agents] Realistic, executable environments for reliable coding-agent training and evaluation: Change2Task and WitnessGym. [Verifiable Code Synthesis in Loop] Retrieval, execution feedback, and automated verification for iterative code synthesis and repair: VeriRAG, GraphCue, and ABA-RAG. [Efficient Learning for Agentic AI] Resource-efficient training, adaptation, and inference under practical compute and constraints: TopoEdge, Gover-Hybrid, and HU-PEFT.

I am currently seeking PhD opportunities starting in Fall 2027.
